Shingle Garden

We were delighted when our clients asked us to create a new drought resilient gravel garden in the front of their house. What was a boring lawn with a single Prunus (cherry) tree has become an engaging south-facing garden that looks wonderful throughout the seasons. In spring a sea of daffodils and tulips combine with the wonderful white cherry blossom - passers by are often known to stop and take selfies. In summer Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso', Oenothera and Santolina steal the show, followed by stunning autumnal display from Panicum virgatum ‘Northwind’ - a wonderful ornamental grass that holds its winter structure.
